Being a dictator is not so cool, but why is it that most dictators have the coolest accoutrement’s? Take Kim Jung Il’s glasses for example, the small, yet powerful leader or North Korea is always seen wearing the fly’est glasses, why is that? Because he has fashion sense, maybe no political or common sense, but definitely ‘taste’ when it comes to eye-frames.

It’s getting harder and harder to dig through the crates and find these ol’school eye frames. Living in Thailand there is an abundance of vintage eye wear left over from the 50’s up to the early 80’s. Most of these glasses can be found in the small Northern capital city of Chiang Mai and a bit in Chiang Rai as well. Thai men (myself included) are forever stuck on over sized large rim, rather funny looking eye glasses. I don’t know what it is? Something nostalgic that says “I’m ready to rule the Universe today”(or at least North Korea, Cuba or Venezuela)
