The fashion styles of the seventies will never die. What’s wrong people? We live in an age of consumerism: everyone has to have the newest, the trendiest.

Forget about trends, have some originality, don’t be afraid. It takes a certain amount of bravery to not follow the trends, but it feels a whole lot more liberating. One thing I miss most about living in NYC is thrift store shopping. What happened to fashion? It’s so disposable, what’s hot today is lame tomorrow. Not seventies clothes, just look at the way clothes were cut back than: made to fit, shoot the cuffs, and shoot the collars, flare the pants, boot cuts, etc. I want to drool when I think about those fitted leather coats with the big buttons and wrap around belts, you know the ones, forgot? Get a copy of the film Super Fly and than you’ll be able to dig what I’m talking about.

Not just because it looks good, or just plain cool to get yer digs at the thrift shop, but in an age where culture is becoming more and more disposable we as a people have to stand up and keep it real. Don’t be a victim of fashion crime, and help stop global warming. It pays to buy clothes that are second hand, or just leftovers that never left the shelves when they were ‘in style’ way back when. Who said recycling was only for glass, plastics, and metals? Recycle you’re clothing as well; that doesn’t mean you have to go to one extreme and purchase only second hand goods but mix it up a bit. Stay Groovy Y’all.
