May everyone be independent enough to work for themselves, we all have the right to become our own boss. Living here in the small town of Pai in Northern Thailand, I have learned many interesting things over the past six years. The most recent lesson (Work for Yourself!) is loud and clear. There is an Ethical way of doing business that keeps in Right Conduct with the Buddha’s teachings about Right Livelihood.

One very influential book that I have read called The Diamond Cutter, by Geshe Michael Roache, It has helped me tremendously to transform my thinking away from the age old saying “Nothing Personal, it’s only business…” When all employees are treated with care, everyone benefits, and it’s a more profitable business model.
